Piedmont Dance Theatre produces artistically excellent performances that educate and enrich a diverse audience in the art of dance. The company has presented The Nutcracker and Peter and the Wolf to over 60,000 area school children enabling many students to experience a live dance performance for the first time.
In addition to PDT’s annual Nutcracker production, the company can be found performing at several different events throughout the year. Each summer, since 2008, PDT has presented an annual Summer Concert Series free of charge to the public. PDT has maintained its commitment to creating and sustaining relationships with businesses and organizations in the community. Some of the partnerships formed are with the Kannapolis City Schools, Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital, Village Fest, and the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra.
